Őrség and the Őrség National Park
Discover the wonders!
ÉletMagTár and Őrség
Our guesthouse is located in the Őrség National Park.
In the southwestern corner of Vas County, we find this beautiful landscape dotted with forests and groves, where the Hungarian settlers, during the conquest, established watchtowers to protect the western gate. This is where the name Őrség originates. Over the centuries, the people who have lived here have shaped the landscape with their small-scale farming, buildings blending into the environment, all in harmony with nature, preserving and maintaining its rich diversity. Along with its natural values, the region also holds outstanding ethnographic and cultural-historical significance. Today, these values are protected by the national park, which was established on March 1, 2002.
